Glow-in-the-Dark Skeleton USB Flash Drive

rayD8 mimobot skeleton flash drive

From illustrator and designer Dino Alberto come these fiendishly adorable glow-in-the-dark skeleton USB flash memory drives. The limited edition “rayD8 mimobots” are available in 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB capacities, and you can choose to add on a tiny black zipperback hoodie to keep your mimobot snug.

Until now, I didn’t realize my flash drive was missing a little black hoodie emblazoned with a glowing skeleton, but now I don’t see how it can go on without one.

The Art and Alchemy of Scent

scents from CB I Hate Perfume

Driftwood.

An ancient forest in the heat of a summer afternoon.

Shelves full of old books.

The smoke of burning maple leaves.

These are some of the extraordinarily specific scents Christopher Brosius has captured in his collection of decadent and delightful perfumes, accords, and home sprays. His mission is “to give you a pleasure you never thought possible” by capturing and bottling all of the world’s pleasant scents. His approach to aroma is part science, part art.

At any given time, there are up to 400 hand created accords on display at CB I Hate Perfume, Brosius’ Brooklyn gallery. You can purchase a single accord, or arrange for a custom blended perfume made without any alcohol. Many of the ready-to-wear scents are also available online.

For those not able to travel to the gallery, the online shop offers detailed descriptions of each accord, accompanied by the story behind each scent. Brosius’ inspirations are also evident in the literary references that pepper the site.

His Chemical Series of perfume accords contains scents that truly underscore the link between aroma and memory. The series “captures the scents that symbolize technology, industry and man-made objects.” At first this may seem bizarre, but imagine the nostalgia when you catch a whiff of a smell from your childhood – a fresh new box of Crayolas or sun tan lotion, for instance.

If you feel that women should smell like Britney Spears Fantasy and men should not enter a room unless preceded by a cloud of Drakkar Noir, then CB I Hate Perfume probably isn’t for you. But if old paper and autumn leaves or spring flowers, wet dirt, and moss tickle your fancy, take some time to explore the CB I Hate Perfume online perfume shop.

Film Short of H.P. Lovecraft’s “The Other Gods”

A lost classic of silent film has been rediscovered and lovingly restored by Subterranea Entertainment. At least, that’s the story told in the opening frames of this modern vintage animation of H.P. Lovecraft’s short story, “The Other Gods”:

The lovely silhouette animations in the film were actually created by animator Michael Boas using paper cutouts and backlighting. The film was scored by composer Keith Handy.

The Damned’s Grimly Fiendish

The Damned were England’s first truly successful punk band and, led by suave vampire Dave Vanian, the band is the uncredited creator of goth. Disbanded and reformed multiple times The Damned’s corpus of work spans three decades and embraces as many musical styles.

1985’s Grimly Fiendish was based on a popular comic book villain and is one of the band’s signature songs:

Check out their MySpace for news on these underground legends who are still going strong.

Beer-Battered Deep Fried Bacon Cheeseburger

Elvis would be proud of this indulgence, created and photographed by the fiendish Texan responsible for Peppers & Smoke.

Grab yourself a pound of bacon, but don’t bother with beef – the foundation of this enticingly decadent culinary masterpiece is a pair of 100% ground bacon patties stuffed with mozzarella cheese. The coronary-inducing concoction is slathered in a beer batter and deep fried in oil before being served on a bun with pepper jack cheese accompanied by deep fried jalapenos.

I’m betting this would give the DB burger a run for its money.

Slashfood calls this recipe “too nutty to ignore.” I call it fiendishly delightful.

Haunted Mansion For Sale in Connecticut

Connecticut haunted mansion for sale on eBay

6,000 square feet of haunted house is on the market in Seymour, Connecticut for an asking price of $469,000. From the listing on eBay (cleaned up to get rid of the obnoxious caps):

Very rare and unique. 6,000 square feet, 7 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, jacuzzi, marble double sink. Two new kitchens, lots of original work, 4 fireplaces, spiral staircase, hidden office, hardwood floors throughout the house, in-law set up, new roof and windows.

This house is one of the three biggest mansions of Seymour- all belonging to the Charles Goodyear Day family- the inventor of vulcanized rubber. We have all the history and records including birth and death certificates on the original owners of the home.

There has been alot of weird experiences since we’ve owned this house. This house is definetely haunted but not certified yet.

Doors open and close when they want, lights turn on and off by themselves, things come and go, disappear and reappear.

I believe this house to be really friendly but can’t stop playing jokes on us.it’s really started to mess with our heads and affect our sleep and interfere with our dreams. Check out my other items!

This mansion has alot of possibilites.

In walking distance to the train station and shopping . 30 minute drive to New York City, 10 minute drive to the ocean.

I know this is a gimmick to offload an out-of-date house during a housing slump, but I can’t help find the idea of owning a haunted mansion appealing. I wonder, are they also throwing in the teleportation device that allows them to travel from Seymour, CT to NYC in 30 minutes?

By the way, according to the eBay listing, this item cannot be shipped – pickup only.
